Iranian Typography Workshop
The Basel School of design (FHNW/HGK)

Majid Abbasi, Iranian graphic designer and typographer will be holding an Iranian Typography workshop at the Basel School of Design May 5–6.

The theme of the workshop is based on the name of each student. A name is a label for a human, thing, place, product (as in a brand name) or even idea or concept, normally used to distinguish one from another. Names can identify a class or category of things, or a single thing, either uniquely or within a given context. A personal name identifies a specific unique and identifiable individual person.

In this workshop students will learn how to write their name in the Persian language and design typographic compositions by using two of the very famous Iranian/Arabic typefaces. The results will be shown as A3 printouts on 6th of May at the Basel School of Design.
